As the V&A’s vastly acclaimed (aka virtually inaccessible) ‘David Bowie Is’ exhibit nears its close date, a live film looking at its many wares will be beamed into participating cinemas on 13 Aug.

Directed by filmmaker Hamish Hamilton and shown on over 200 screens nationwide, ‘David Bowie Is Happening Now’ will feature intros and insights by the show’s main creatives Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh, and by special guests… maybe even Dave (probably not though).

V&A MD Martin Roth says: “Visitors have gone to great lengths for a chance to see our exhibition, so we wanted to give everyone across the country one last opportunity to experience it for themselves. This is the first time the V&A has taken part in a live broadcast event of this magnitude and we are extremely excited to be working with such a talented production team to present the phenomenon that is David Bowie to the widest possible audience”.

Details and a list of screenings are here.
