The National to perform Sorrow. A lot

The National

Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson has had an idea. And if you’re in New York next month, you can see that idea played out. Quite literally. Entitled ‘A Lot Of Sorrow’, Kjartansson has drafted in The National to perform their song ‘Sorrow’, from 2010 album ‘High Violet’, on a loop for six hours. That certainly is a whole lot of ‘Sorrow’.

Taking place from 12pm to 6pm on 5 May at the MoMA PS1 exhibition space in New York, it’ll be interesting to see what happens. Will the band grow to hate the song? Will it morph and change into something quite different by the end? Will anyone be able to stand the full six hour show? These are things we can only wait to find out.

And if you want to find out first hand, tickets are available here.

Prepare yourself by listening to ‘Sorrow’ here:
