Roy Harper to release LP after thirteen year gap
By Aly Barchi | Published on Friday 5 July 2013
Folk bard Roy Harper is to release his first all-new LP in thirteen years, titled ‘Man And Myth’, via Bella Union on 23 Sep.
Dating back in parts to 2009, when Harper felt inspired to start writing again after a pause, it was mainly taped at American artist Jonathan Wilson’s studio in Laurel Canyon.
Says Harper: “I’ve written poetry, prose, essays and articles and gone through the motions of being Roy, but I didn’t have the will to make another album until recently. I’d picked up the guitar after a long break, and this [one] song started to engage me with different tunings and ideas, and suddenly I was off to the races again”.
