Pussy Riot return with two new songs

Two new Pussy Riot tracks have hit the internet this week, written and performed by the group’s Nadya Tolokonnikova and produced by Dave Sitek.
Following on from Sitek’s previous production for the outfit, ‘Chaika’, new track ‘Straight Outta Vagina’ is performed in English, and also features rappers Desi Mo and Leikeli47. Announcing the track, Tolokonnikova told Afisha Daily: “We are still surrounded by such creatures as Putin and Trump, who view women on the same level as expensive watches. In the larger context of history, female emancipation is a relatively new concept. It is naive to suppose that a hundred years is enough to change the entire existing culture of prejudice”.
Referencing Donald Trump’s recently uncovered “grab them by the pussy” comments, the official Pussy Riot Twitter account also threatened that this song “grabs back”.
The second new song, ‘Organs’, is less upbeat than the first and performed in Russian, delivering lines like, “You don’t want to end unwilling pregnancies with an abortion, like Trump? Then cut your balls, motherfucker, and there will be no need for abortions. But leave my pussy alone and don’t touch me with your dirty tradition. Relax, man”.
