Notorious BIG to appear as animated spirit in daughters’ new cartoon
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 14 March 2013
Notorious BIG’s teen daughters, CJ and T’yanna Wallace, are in talks to voice a new TV cartoon co-starring the late rapper and based in his Brooklyn studio.
Rolling Stone says the girls’ characters will “maintain and defend” the recording space against evil (aka larger hip hop players who want to take it over), whilst BIG will appear as a kind of spiritual presence to advise them. So far, so strange.
Apparently – says the show’s creator, Wally Eltawashy of Ossian Studios in a press release – its “creative format will allow for advertising integration in the truest, purest sense of the term”. This ‘integration’ will take the shape of brand-sponsored guest appearances by “some of the world’s greatest talents”, and, even weirder, “re-imagined renditions of classics from Notorious BIG’s catalogue”.
Say the Wallaces: “It’s been sixteen years since our dad was murdered and we miss him dearly. This project is a great opportunity for us to bridge the gap between our parents, who loved his music, and the kids and young adults our ages, that were not around to really appreciate it”.
‘House Of Wallace’, as the series is titled, is still to be commissioned.
