Hello. If you’re looking at this in the CMU Daily email, then you’ll have noticed that something is different. I’ve just got back from a brief stay in a nineteenth century fort in Pembrokeshire, which is nice. But after all that history, I required something brand new to offset it.

Welcome, therefore, to the new look CMU Daily. Isn’t it shiny? I like it, I hope you like it, too. As well as the new design, there’ll be some new features in the Daily this week, some of which you may know, some of which you won’t. That’s all still to come, as is all of this…

01: Artist And Manager Awards. The Featured Artists Coalition and Music Managers Forum’s inaugural Artist And Manager Awards will take place at The Roundhouse on Tuesday. The first ever Artists’ Artist Award, presented by FAC, will go to Massive Attack, while the MMF will present the Peter Grant Award For Service To Management to John Glover. Elsewhere, award organisers announced last month that Beggars Group boss Martin Mills (who we’ll have an interview with later this week) will be presented with the Industry Champion Award, while the team at management agency Everbody’s will get the Achievement Award prize.

02: Music Producers’ Guild Awards nominations close. Submissions for nominations for the 2012 Music Producers Guild Awards will close this Friday, so if you’re particularly keen to see someone from a production community recognised for their work, now is your last chance. Once the nominations are in, MPG members will vote to draw up shortlists in each category, which will then be judged by a panel of producers, engineers, artists, artist managers, A&R representatives, music journalists and radio presenters.

03: Me on 6music. How about some self-promotion now? OK, here we go. I’ll be on Tom Robinson’s Now Playing @6music show again this Friday, playing some songs I like and talking about them. I’ll also provide a guest post for the show’s blog. So, tune in from 7pm to 9pm on Friday evening, because you’ll hear a great selection of new music and listener selected playlists, and you’ll only have to block out the sound of my whiny voice for a few minutes.

04: New releases. Right, so, Radiohead’s collection of remixed tracks from their ‘The King Of Limbs’ album, ‘TKOL RMX 1234567’ is out today, as are new albums from Girls, Slow Club, St Vincent, and the wonderful Peggy Sue. Not to mention CANT, Cymbals Eat Guitars, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Kidda, Roll The Dice, Arcadion, and Årabrot’s ‘Solar Anus’. Nice. And if it’s singles you want, well, Liverpool outfit, er, Outfit’s debut is out this week, as is the collaboration between Insane Clown Posse, Jack White and Mozart.

05: Gigs. Oh my, there are a lot of gigs on this week. Good ones, too. Top of my list is Kid Koala tomorrow night, who will be playing quietly in Shoreditch’s Red Gallery while people sit on beanbags and draw. Really. Elsewhere in the gig calendar, you’ll find Beirut, Daedelus, EMA, Ford & Lopatin, Emmy The Great, The War On Drugs, Peggy Sue, Oneohtrix Point Never, plus Slow Club will be kicking off their two week run around the UK rescheduled from May.

Also, don’t forget that this Friday the CMU Podcast returns from its summer break. Chris Cooke and I will be back on the airwaves waffling on about the music business for half an hour or so. Sounds like fun, huh? Check it out here.
