Emmylou Harris touring with Rodney Crowell
By Aly Barchi | Published on Monday 25 February 2013
Country girl – well, lady – Emmylou Harris and her live guitarist of 38 years Rodney Crowell, who are releasing a duets LP titled ‘Old Yellow Moon’, will play a series of live dates in May behind it.
Comprising four original Crowell-authored tracks – and covers of Hank DeVito’s ‘Hanging Up My Heart’, Roger Miller’s ‘Invitation To The Blues’ and Allen Reynolds’ ‘Dreaming My Dreams’ – ‘Old Yellow Moon’ will be released on 4 Mar via Nonesuch Records.
Says Harris to Rolling Stone: “I think we always knew we would do a record together one day. I guess it was sometime last year that I said, ‘You know, if we’re going to do this record, we’ve got to put a fence around some time and get started'”.
The shows shall go as follows:
8 May: Manchester, Bridgewater Hall
9 May: London, Hammersmith Apollo
10 May: Birmingham, Symphony Hall
12 May: Belfast, Waterfront
15 May: Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall
16 May: Gateshead, The Sage
