Eleanor Friedberger releasing personal new record
By Aly Barchi | Published on Thursday 7 March 2013
Eleanor Friedberger, aka one half of the Fiery Furnaces, has given a name, buy date etc to her new solo LP. Released via Merge on 10 Jun, ‘Personal Record’ (says Friedberger) was co-written “for an intimate setting” in collaboration with artist/novelist Wesley Stace back in 2011,
Adds she: “I’ve always tried to make each record in a new way; now I had one right in front of me. The new songs presented themselves as love songs, and that seemed perfect for the intimacy with which I wanted to play them. And they are love songs – hellos and goodbyes, infatuation, preoccupation, loss – but not simply about romantic love”.
