CMU Approved
Approved: White Fence – Pink Gorilla
By Aly Barchi | Published on Tuesday 19 February 2013
Another vital link in Ty Segall’s collaborative circle-of-friends, White Fence’s Tim Presley last year released a Segal-equalling tally of LPs: his CMU Approved solo two-parter ‘Family Perfume’ and a duet with… yeah, Segall again, titled ‘Hair’.
Not one to do nothing while Ty rakes in praise hand-over-fist for his prolificacy, Presley is back with a new strictly-White-Fence exploit, an eleven track named ‘Cyclops Reap’ and set to be released via Castle Face on 8 Apr. Available to try for size straight away is ‘Pink Gorilla’, a simian psych reverie that cuts a clean-ish dash, and winds on into an acid-crazed guitar solo to rival all acid-crazed guitar solos:
White Fence, by the way, is also a billed guest at a show co-starring Mikal Cronin at London’s Tufnell Park Dome on 16 May.
