Last summer anonymous Tokyo-based duo LLLL appeared in a flurry of activity. Over the course of five months, they released two EPs and a single, ten tracks in all. Then… nothing. Since September their two windows on the world, their Facebook and Twitter profiles, have lain dormant. Was that it?
On the positive side, if it was all we were ever going to hear from them, then those are ten atmospheric but ear-grabbing pop tracks that the world is better for having. On the negative side, they sounded like they were only just getting started. I don’t want to be all ‘NOW NOW NOW’ about it, but six months does seem like a long time for a new act that’s getting a lot of attention to disappear.
It’s OK though, in a recent interview with Japanese blog Lights And Music they promised that new music is on the way. While we wait for that, acquaint (or re-acquaint) yourself with their previous offerings via their Bandcamp page, and check out the video for ‘Because Of My Eyes’ here.
