Ant & Dec’s ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’ is at number two in the iTunes chart as we speak after the ITV twosome revisited their CBBC past during this weekend’s edition of their ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ show as the finale of a musical medley promoting ITV2 series ‘The Big Reunion’.

Confirming, in case there was any doubt, that it’s not just shit pop music from the 1980s that can cash in on the nostalgia circuit, ‘The Big Reunion’ has scored impressive ratings for an ITV2 show, and resulted in a fourteen date arena tour featuring the programme’s stars this coming May.

‘TBR’ acts 5ive, Atomic Kitten and Blue all appeared on the Ant & Dec Saturday night prime time show this weekend before the programme’s hosts donned their PJ & Duncan wardrobe (I’m guessing a few sizes bigger than first time round) for a rendition of their 1994 hit ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’.

Resulting interest in the track on the Apple download store could see the song chart higher this time round than it did back in the 1990s. I always preferred their track ‘Shout’, though that’s possibly because I was slightly too old to be within the ‘Byker Grove’ generation.
