Zappa joined by Mighty Boosh for Frank’s 70th birthday
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 13 October 2010
Frank Zappa’s eldest son Dweezil will be bringing his acclaimed Zappa Plays Zappa show back to the UK next month to mark what would have been his father’s 70th birthday, and he will be joined by The Mighty Boosh Band for the party.
The show will take place at The Roundhouse in London on 6 Nov and will see the Zappa Plays Zappa band performing Frank’s ‘Apostrophe (‘)’ album in full, with a little help from the man himself, thanks to some video jiggery pokery. Supporting them, Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, aka The Mighty Boosh, will perform their own unique take on several Zappa tracks, as well as delivering a dialogue from Zappa’s Old Bailey obscenity trial.
The show is part of a three day festival celebrating the life and work of Frank Zappa, who died in 1993 from prostate cancer. More information from www.roundhouse.org.uk/frank-zappa
