Youth Lagoon talks sophomore LP
By Aly Barchi | Published on Monday 7 January 2013
Alt-pop soloist Youth Lagoon, real name Trevor Powers, has just assigned a new title to his sophomore LP – as follows 2011’s ‘The Year Of Hibernation’ – and that title is ‘Wondrous Bughouse’.
Muses Powers, who “became fascinated with the human psyche” whilst writing the new tracks: “My mental state is usually pretty sporadic… a lot of this record was influenced by a fear of mortality but embracing it at the same time. Realising that human life is only great because it is temporary. Experimenting with ideas about dimensions. I’m not a gifted speaker, so explaining things is difficult for me. But music always makes sense”.
‘Wondrous Bughouse’ is set for release on 4 Mar, and will bear a tracklisting resembling this one:
Through Mind and Back
Mute
Attic Doctor
The Bath
Pelican Man
Dropla
Sleep Paralysis
Third Dystopia
Raspberry Cane
Daisyphobia
