Young Guns sign to Virgin EMI
By Chris Cooke | Published on Friday 7 February 2014
After releasing two albums with [PIAS], Young Guns have just signed to Universal division Virgin EMI, which will release the rock band’s third album later this year, work on which is about to begin. The Virgin deal excludes North America where the band will continue to be signed to Wind Up Records.
Confirming all this, Andy Snape of the band’s management firm Raw Power told CMU: “Young Guns are genuinely excited at the prospect of working with Mike Smith and his team at Virgin EMI. They have a real understanding of what the band are looking to achieve creatively and their enthusiasm was a major reason why we decided to sign to the label”.
Meanwhile the there-mentioned Smith, President of Virgin EMI, added: “We have long been admirers of Young Guns. They have a very strong vision for the kind of music they want to make and we are honoured that they chose Virgin EMI to help them achieve that”.
