Eddy Says: You didn’t come… so I dialled 999
By Eddy Temple-Morris | Published on Monday 9 February 2009
I have man flu. I can’t think of anything else at the moment, it’s taken over my life. Chest infection, throat infection and sinus infection all rolled into one horrible bag of snot. Combined with four gigs in three days… not a good look.
It has reminded me of something I can share with you, though. I keep talking about that ‘Man Flu’ clip on YouTube. I don’t know where it’s from originally [It’s from a short-lived BBC3 sketch show called ‘Man Stroke Woman’ – Ed], but in suffering, and telling people about it, I’ve discovered that lots of people have never seen this clip, so I’ve put the link below.
It stars Nick Frost, who I love to bits. I was at an Xfm Big Night Out about five years ago when I got my arse felt from behind. I turned around and it was him. I didn’t know his name then, he was just ‘that hilarious fat bloke from Spaced/Shaun Of The Dead’.
He said, “You’re Eddy Temple-Morris… I love you!”
I said, “You’re that fat bloke off the telly… I love you!”
We laughed like drains and hugged and he confessed he listened to the Remix when he could and that he loved it. I always say how lovely we are, the extended Remix family. Anyway, sorry it’s not much an Eddy Says, but I’m really ill and really busy. This should make amends, it’s a truly brilliant sketch. Men will laugh at how apt it is and girls will laugh at how rubbish we are. It’s genius. enjoy:
