Will.i.am made Grammy Foundation director

Will.i.am has been appointed as the new director of the Grammy Foundation, the US non-profit organisation which aims to promote the contribution of recorded music in American culture, largely through the Grammy Awards, in association with MusiCare and The Recording Academy.

Also new on the charity’s board are singer-songwriter Darryl Brown, Daniel Cherry of Anomaly and Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino.

Foundation President and CEO Neil Portnow said in a statement: “We look to [our board members] for creativity and stewardship as we continue our growth. The talent and vision of our board members is truly inspiring, and we are very fortunate to have highly respected individuals working with us”.
