We7 to chart return
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 27 March 2009
Ad-funded music service We7, which has moved very much into the on-demand streaming domain after initially also dabbling in the ad-funded download model, has announced it will be participating in that previously reported new music chart which will track the music being most streamed across the UK. We7, which is the first streaming service to officially sign up to planned streaming chart I think, will also start filing stats for music sold by their a-la-carte download service.
Confirming its new chart initiatives, We7’s SVP of Digital Content, Clive Gardiner, told reporters: “We believe in actively sharing data and insights with our partners and are delighted to be integrated with OCC. We have worked really hard to improve our music promotion tools on We7’s website so that fans can instantly see exciting music whichever genre they enjoy. Our redesigned home page can point to more 150 titles every week, and our multilayered promotions can bring uplifts of 25%. Being part of OCC’s data capture can prove the effectiveness of what we are doing”.
