Warner/Chappell to administer early Grohl works

Warner/Chappell have signed a global publishing deal with that Dave Grohl chap. Not sure if that means they have to pay for all his coffee.

The Warner Music publishing division will administer Grohl’s rights in all of his work released before he signed up to his current publisher Universal Music Publishing, which means the first four Foo Fighters albums and his contributions to the Nirvana catalogue.

Confirming the deal, Warner/Chappell Music President Scott Francis told reporters: “Dave has garnered a massive dedicated fan base and critical acclaim by writing and recording some of the best rock songs in recent memory. His work with Nirvana, and Foo Fighters, as well as a number of side projects has contributed to some of most influential music in alternative rock and hard rock. We are honoured to work with an artist of his calibre and we look forward to a long-standing relationship with him”.
