Warner Music Japan CEO Kei Ishizaka to retire

Warner Music Japan’s Chairman and CEO Kei Ishizaka has announced his retirement.
Having worked in the Japanese music industry for 46 years, working at EMI for 26 and also spending time at Universal Music before joining Warner Music Japan in 2011, he will step down on 1 Apr, though will remain linked to the company as its Honorary Chairman until October.
Announcing his departure, Ishizaka said: “It has been a true honour to oversee Warner Music Japan for the past two and a half years. It is a company with a rich history and a tireless devotion to serving its artists. I am proud of all we have accomplished in building Warner Music Japan’s reputation as a progressive home for outstanding artists, as well as laying the foundation for the company’s growth for many years to come”.
An announcement about Ishizaka’s replacement is expected in the new few weeks.
