Vybz Kartel found guilty of murder

Often controversial dancehall star Vybz Kartel has been found guilty of murdering a man called Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams at his Jamaican home in August 2011.
Four of Kartel’s associates were also accused of beating Williams to death and then disposing of his body, and all but one of those men were also found guilty of the murder this week, at the end of a high profile 65 day trial in the Jamaican capital Kingston.
Kartel was previously accused of murdering music promoter Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton, but the case against him there collapsed last year. Meanwhile lawyers for the dancehall star have already dubbed this case “dishonest” and “incompetent” and confirmed their client’s intent to appeal the ruling.
