Virgin US chief to depart
By Chris Cooke | Published on Tuesday 21 October 2014
Ron Fair is stepping down from his top role at the US branch of Virgin Records, according to the New York Post.
As previously reported, Fair joined Universal Music in early 2013 to head up a rebooted Virgin Music US within the Capitol Music Group, the division of Universal that brought together most of the American EMI assets the mega-major had bought the previous year.
There has been no formal announcement about Fair’s position within the major. The veteran producer and label exec has worked at a number of record companies over his three decade career.
