Virgin US appoints A&R director
By Chris Cooke | Published on Thursday 11 July 2013
Universal Music has appointed Evan Peters to the role of A&R Director at its recently revitalised Virgin US division, one of the labels the mega-major acquired when it bought the EMI recorded music business last year.
Peters, whose past A&R roles include a nine year stint at another Universal division, Interscope, will report into Ron Fair, Virgin US’s Chief Creative Office. Fair told reporters: “I told Evan to take the ball and run with it. He has great record making skills, strong relationships in our community and I’m a hundred percent confident he will hit his stride as an A&R man of distinction at Virgin Records”.
Peters himself added: “I could not be more excited to be reunited with Ron Fair at the newly revitalised Virgin Records. Coming in with a fresh start to this label with such a rich legacy is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m proud to begin working with the diverse and talented roster and am looking forward to cultivating the new crop of Virgin artists”.
