Video award nominations announced

More awards, oh yes, and the noms are out for this year’s UK Music Video Awards, which will be presented on 8 Nov at the Empire cinema in London’s Leicester Square.

Says the awards’ Editorial Director David Knight: “The UK Music Video Awards is all about giving rightful recognition to the creativity, craft and sheer entertainment value of music videos today. On a professional level, they continue to be an important testing ground for filmmakers – potentially the next generation of movie directors, and certainly commercials directors. But the playground is now open to pretty much everyone, and this year the MVAs have expanded the number of awards to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of music video creativity in 2011. Some really outstanding videos have been made in the past year, for all genres of music, in the UK and beyond. We’re looking forward to honouring them at the 2011 UK MVAs in November”.
