Universal allies with Sony logistics firm for pack and ship services

Universal Music UK has signed a deal with Sony’s logistics firm Sony DADC which will see the latter provide the former with supply-chain services for physical product distribution, based out of the Sony company’s North London-based distribution centre, best known for only burning down once.

Confirming the new alliance with Sony DADC, Universal’s UK COO David Sharpe told reporters: “Sony DADC has best-in-class infrastructure in the UK which we will take full advantage of to continue to provide the highest quality of service to our customers”.

Meanwhile Sony DADC GM Distribution Natasha Tyrrell added: “It is fantastic to have won this contract with such a prestigious recording company and we look forward to a successful partnership with them. Our facilities in the UK are second to none and are being recognised as such by the world’s premiere entertainment companies. Utilising the best internal and external solutions available we guarantee a comprehensive, high quality solution to support the future of both packaged and digital media”.
