Digital Distributor TuneCore has acquired JustGo, a platform that helps grassroots artists manage their social media presence. JustGo will cease to exist as a standalone service and will morph into TuneCore Social, offering social media management and analytics tools to artists distributing their tracks to download and streaming services via the company.

Confirming the acquisition, TuneCore said that in a recent survey of its users it found that “a majority of its artists were less than satisfied with their own current social media capabilities – TuneCore Social addresses the high use and importance of social media for artists by helping streamline their digital presence into one easy-to-use hub, allowing them to better connect with their current fans, as well as gain new ones”.

JustGo founder Justin Golshir will join TuneCore to oversee the integration of the two platforms and to further expand to distributor’s artist service provision. He said of the deal: “With JustGo our mission has always been to help emerging musicians grow their fanbase and get their music heard around the world. TuneCore strives to do exactly that through its vast portfolio of artist services and together we can achieve that shared mission on a much larger scale now with TuneCore Social”.

Meanwhile TuneCore boss Scott Ackerman said: “We talk to our customers every day so we can learn exactly what they want and need to be successful as independent artists. We know that social media is integral in helping our artists reach a wider audience, so acquiring JustGo was a natural fit. Offering this all-in-one management platform is a testament to our commitment to supporting our artists and helping them thrive in this ever-changing industry”.
