Totally Pointless Music Awards shortlists unveiled

The shortlists are out for this year’s Totally Pointless Music Awards, which will be presented at Birmingham’s Genting Arena on 10 Dec. Let’s hope that Adele wins at least one of the gongs she’s up for, it’s about time she got some attention.
Anyway, here are your licence-fee funded Totally Pointless shortlists…
British Artist Of The Year: Adele, Ed Sheeran, Jamie XX, Florence + The Machine, Foals, Years & Years.
International Artist Of The Year: Foo Fighters, Hozier, Major Lazer, Prince, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd.
BBC Live Performance Of The Year: Adele At The BBC, Florence + The Machine at Glastonbury, Jeff Lynne’s ELO Radio 2 In Concert, Lionel Richie at Glastonbury, Late Night With… BBC Radio 1 at the BBC Proms, Late Night With… BBC Radio 1Xtra at the BBC Proms
And now here’s BBC Music Director, and chief overseer of the Totally Pointless Music Awards, Mr Bob Shennan: “What a year it’s been for music. Our shortlists represent the artists who have created some of the biggest and most impactful music moments of the year. I’m looking forward to the big unveiling in Birmingham next week”.
