Eddy Says: This week I am mostly biting my fingernails in anticipation
By Eddy Temple-Morris | Published on Monday 11 May 2009
Everyone gets pre-party jitters when they throw one, and I’m no exception. In fact, I’m a natural worrier, so this is worse for a habitual cuticle muncher like myself.
You know the line-up by now. I just want to say if you’ve ever been to a Remix club night before, and enjoyed yourself, then please make the effort to come to this one – it’s only £5 (check the diary section for more details on that) for that amazing array of international talent. Oh, and the world’s first fully circular 3D disco! It’s there on the way in from 6pm-midnight. Sounds ace.
It’s so important that we show the nice Matter people that we are a force to be reckoned with, and that support for the music we love, from a big organisation like Fabric/Matter, is well-founded, and that their support is well supported by us in return. I know it’s a long way compared to SeOne, but the club is SO MUCH BETTER… and you won’t have those stark-staring, lunatic, steroidal fucknuts on SeOne security hospitalising our headliners and mauling random beloved guests. The security guys at Matter are the opposite: Nice, respectful, intelligent, the way door staff should be.
Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing what Dylan King Cannibal does with that soundsystem in the back room; plus seeing Freeland’s amazing drummer again with more volume will be a thrill; as will seeing Herve DJ at Matter for the first time ever. I’ve never seen the Shoes DJ either, only play live twice, but they really know how to deliver the goods there, so I have high hopes.
So come out, cut some rug, stay out late and instead of staggering out of SeONe into that depressing railway arch, leered at by those death-camp-attendants on the door, we’ll see the warm light of early spring morning, shimmering across the Thames on the Greenwich peninsula.
