Chatty trio The xx say they have already started making a new LP, and will apply themselves to it earnest in the New Year.
Speaking via Swedish festival site Festivalrykten, the band’s Jamie Smith revealed they already have several track ideas in place, adding: “After finishing this tour, we will be doing some separate things, I’ll produce and DJ, but we will get back together after New Year’s to start recording our third album”.
Meanwhile, prattling away via a separate NME interview at the AIM Awards earlier this week, xx singer Romy Madley Croft was heard to say: “We’re definitely feeling inspired and ready to go. We played a lot of big stages on tour in the past year, and that’s something I’m sure will come through in the next album. We’ve all lived a lot of life recently, which the new songs will reflect”.
