The Hidden Cameras announce new album
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 17 August 2016
There’s a new Hidden Cameras album coming out this autumn, which will feature guest appearances from Rufus Wainright, Neil Tennant, Feist and Ron Sexsmith. So that’s nice. I am in favour.
Titled ‘Home On Native Land’, the record sees songwriter Joel Gibb return to his native Canada. Work on the record actually began ten years ago, and as well as original songs it sees Gibb covering country standards ‘Dark End Of The Street’ and ‘Don’t Make Promises’, plus Canadian folk song ‘Log Driver’s Waltz’. He also covers himself, taking fifteen year old demo ‘He Is The Boss Of Me’ and giving it the full studio treatment.
Listen to the album’s first single, ‘The Day I Left Home’ here:
