In addition to the schedule for the CMU Insights strand on music marketing, The Great Escape has also just announced that BIMM will be the event’s first ever Lead Educational Partner. Following the launch of the BIMM Student Sessions during last year’s Great Escape, this year a similar programme for music students will take place within the convention, giving future industry talent the chance to exchange knowledge and ideas with industry delegates.

Confirming the tie up, Great Escape Director Kat Morris said: “With the UK as our lead international focus for 2015, it makes perfect sense for us to work more closely with BIMM, an institution renowned for educating smart, hungry students and integrating them into the music business. Our collaboration will ensure there is an influx of driven young people into the thriving music industry”.

Meanwhile BIMM board member and former BPI Chair Tony Wadsworth, who interviewed industry legend Seymour Stein as part of last year’s TGE Student Sessions, added: “BIMM and The Great Escape are two of Brighton’s greatest home grown ideas! It’s a huge opportunity for BIMM students to be a part of this industry event and to get closer to the very people who do this stuff for a living. In turn, I’m sure the industry delegates will be impressed and, hopefully, challenged by the questions they get from students”.
