When not flogging beer, flying planes or, sometimes, fronting metal bands, Bruce Dickinson has been known to present radio shows. And TeamRock Radio has just announced a deal with the BBC which will enable it to re-broadcast a year’s worth of rock shows he originally presented for 6 Music. The Iron Maiden frontman’s shows will be re-aired on a weekly basis on the online and digital rock station, and will also be available on demand via TeamRock.com.

The deal with the BBC over Dickinson’s show follows the rebroadcast on TeamRock Radio last year of the final ever Tommy Vance rock show from Radio 1. On his deals with the Beeb, TeamRock Chairman John Myers told reporters: “This is the second agreement we’ve reached with the BBC to re-broadcast programmes from their rock vault. I am delighted that we have come to a deal where these programmes can he heard once again on the air and also on TeamRock.com, the home of rock music worldwide”.

Elsewhere in TeamRock news, the radio station is currently streaming out a programme paying tribute to the late Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell Abbott, who was shot dead while performing at a gig in 2004. The tribute show is currently available online and will air on TeamRock Radio next Monday, on the tenth anniversary of the shooting, which also resulted in the death of three other people.
