Taylor Swift secures restraining order against threatening fan
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 26 March 2014
Taylor Swift has been granted a restraining order against a man called Timothy Sweet, who is accused of claiming to be married to the music star, and to have threatened her family.
An LA judge granted the order after Swift made a submission to the court earlier this month in which she stated: “Mr Sweet’s course of conduct, including threats to harm my family, are seriously alarming and harassing and are extremely distressing to me and my family”.
Sweet, who is accused of posting online messages like, “Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage”, did not attend the court hearing to consider the restraining order yesterday. The injunction forbids him from approaching the singer’s homes, her parents home, and places where the singer routinely works in LA and Nashville.
