Outgoing Warner Music UK chief Christian Tattersfield has confirmed that he will continue to have an alliance with his current employer with the recent news that his new independent venture, the Good Soldier label, will work with the mini-major’s Alternative Distribution Alliance division which will provide digital and physical distribution for all releases outside North America.

As previously reported, Tattersfield will exit his job atop the UK division of Warner next February, with his successor in the role, Max Lousada, already appointed co-CEO of the business. When confirming his departure last month Tattersfield said he was keen to return to more entrepreneurial projects, and that will centre on the new Good Soldier label, a spin-off from the existing Good Solider Songs music publishing company.

Confirming the hook up between Good Soldier and the Warner indie distribution business, ADA UK President Dan Chalmers told CMU: “Christian’s track record for breaking great talent speaks for itself, so this is a very prestigious signing for us and testament to our ability to work with the cream of the indie community. I’m thrilled to continue to work with Christian and to welcome Good Soldier into ADA”.

Meanwhile Tattersfield himself added: “I’m excited to return to my entrepreneurial roots with the launch of Good Soldier, and I’m delighted to be staying in the Warner family. I have a great admiration for Dan and his team. They really are the best in the business and genuinely care about great music. I’ve seen first-hand the extensive expertise in ADA, their impressive global infrastructure and the results they achieve when they get behind acts. I look forward to our partnership and to driving great success for new artists in the UK and beyond”.
