Take That sell a load of records

Earlier this month Take That sold a million gig tickets very quickly. Now their new album is selling fast, too. Insiders say both these facts are due to the band’s enduring popularity, though I’m pretty convinced freak electrical storms or voodoo is involved somewhere along the line. 

The Official Charts Company yesterday reported that the boyband’s new album, ‘Progress’, shifted over 235,000 copies on its first day on sale this week, the largest first day sales of this century (nay, millennium) and the biggest since Oasis shifted 424,000 copies of ‘Be Here Now’ in 1997.

OCC MD Martin Talbot told CMU: “This is a phenomenal achievement from an already phenomenally successful band”.
