Spiritland to open new venue in Kings Cross
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 1 August 2016
Having been based in Shoreditch’s Merchant’s Tavern for the last two years, Spiritland is now moving to a new permanent venue in King’s Cross in September. As well as a music venue, bar and café, it will also sell records and high end audio equipment.
The venue also makes the bold claim of having “the best soundsystem in the world”. That’s a hard thing to prove, but they have spent £340,000 on speakers, so that’s a start. It’ll be located in the shiny new Coal Drop Yard complex behind King’s Cross Station.
Set up by Canteen founders Patrick Clayton-Malone and Dominic Lake and music consultant Paul Noble, Spiritland will be open seven days a week. A schedule of events is yet to be announced.
