Approved: Don’t Wait Animate (SNAP Of The Day)
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 15 June 2009
Another addition to the tirelessly endless new genre list, ‘strumstep’ is plucked straight from the mind of a “quite inebriated” Don’t Wait Animate fan to describe the London five piece’s sound, which merges the pummeling bass and beats of dubstep with new wave style guitars – all without stepping into any Hadouken!-styled minefield. ‘Atlas Moans’, in fact, sounds closer to Bloc Party with its jerky rhythms and vocals slamming from left to right, while ‘6174’ is a well formed Devo-style cut, though with a darker, gloomier pulse led by their dubstep influences. Playing exclusively in the South East for the near future, it seems, there are already 2 EPs up for sale online. Take a listen at the MySpace link below.
