Slow Club announce tour, release new single
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 18 May 2016
Slow Club have released a new single, ‘Ancient Rolling Sea’, produced by Matthew E White and performed with his in-house band at Richmond, Virgina’s Spacebomb Studios. The song is taken from the duo’s forthcoming new album, due for release later this year.
“This song felt as though it just did not want to arrive for a long long time”, says the duo’s Charles Watson. “I worked on the music for the whole time we were writing, and the words just landed at the last minute. With the approach I took on lyrics I wanted it to be more conversational. I wanted it to be direct, as if it were being whispered in your ear”.
The duo will also be touring this month and next, here are the dates:
24 May: Coventry, Warwick Arts Centre
25 May: St Albans, The Horn
26 May: Poole, Mr Kyps
27 May: Southampton, Joiners Arms
28 May: Bristol, The Lantern
31 May: Nottingham, Bodega Social Club
1 Jun: Ashford, Revelations St Mary’s
2 Jun: Brighton, Komedia
3 Jun: Margate, Tom Thumb Theatre
