Sleigh Bells talk “clean” 2013 LP
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 2 November 2012
Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells – aka the Olly Murses of the noise-pop genre in that they are pretty prolific – have said that they intend to release a new LP, their third to date, in 2013. Quoted in an interview by the Huffington Post, the band’s Alexis Krauss says: “Success never paralyses us. It pushes us forward constantly. We’re halfway through the new record”.
Meanwhile guitarist Derek E Miller adds of the new LP’s sound: “I wanted to make a metal record with a different context – without being self-serious. I wanted to play guitar again. [Second album] ‘Reign Of Terror’ comes from a horrible period of my life. I just needed to get it out of my system. Sonically, [the new album’s] a lot more clean… it might sound surprising”.
