Sinead O’Connor “safe and sound” after social media post raises concern

Sinead O’Connor is reportedly “safe and sound” after a post on her Facebook page sparked concerns for her well-being.
The social media update suggested that the musician had attempted to take her own life, prompting a police search. Although the official line from the Irish police is that it does not comment on individual cases, the Irish Examiner quoted a source yesterday evening saying that O’Connor had been found and was receiving medical attention.
Meanwhile, Samaritans CEO Ruth Sutherland told The Independent: “Our research shows that many people find social media to be a crucial outlet when they are struggling to cope. If you are concerned about someone you know, or are experiencing difficult feelings, talking through whatever is getting to you can make all the difference – it can be life saving”.
