Selina Webb promoted to Executive Vice President of Universal Music UK

Universal Music UK’s Senior Director Of Communications Selina Webb has been promoted to the role of Executive Vice President. Whatever that means.
Actually, this is what that means, according to Universal Music UK CEO David Joseph: “Selina knows our company and our industry inside out, and has played a key role in Universal Music’s success. Her new role reflects her exceptional creative and commercial instincts, and I know she will make further significant contributions as we continue to create new opportunities for our artists and labels”.
Still a little confused? Well, in her new role, Webb will become more involved in strategic issues at the major label, as well as expanding her remit in the industry relations domain. Previously editor of Music Week, Webb joined Universal in 1998 as Polydor’s Director Of Press. She was made Senior Director Of Communications in 2010.
