Secret Garden launch record label
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 9 February 2010
The people behind popular music festival The Secret Garden Party have announced they are launching a record label, Garden Records. The label’s first signing are bluesy pop types The Jessie Rose Trip, with their first single, ‘You Won’t Forget Me Boy’, released digitally on 22 Mar.
Explaining the motivation behind launching the label, Head Gardener Fred Fellowes told CMU: “Over the last eight years the Garden Party has provided a platform for a huge number of amazing artists; some of whom it has taken literally years before they have found any support from the industry. It seemed a pity that such talent had to spend so long waiting in the wings”.
While on his first signing he added: “Jessie Rose Trip were just a perfect example of a band that had gone down a storm in past years at the festival that captured the quirky and joyful style that the festival has – and Jessie herself is a talent to be reckoned with”.
