Roundhouse Head Of Music launches new events business
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 5 August 2015
The Roundhouse’s Head Of Music of eight years, Dave Gaydon, is leaving the venue to launch his own bookings and events business to be called GOAT Music, in partnership with Lou Birkett, also a former events exec at the North London venue.
Confirming his new venture, Gaydon told reporters: “I can honestly say that I have loved every moment of my eight years at the Roundhouse. It has been an incredible journey to see how the venue has grown, the 100s of amazing shows each year and of course the opportunity to work with some extraordinary young talent”.
He went on: “I will miss The Roundhouse immensely but I am excited to be starting something new with GOAT, and will continue to work with the Roundhouse’s young artists as well as all the brilliant artists, managers, agents and promoters I have been fortunate enough to work with on the main space shows”.
The new business expands on consultancy work Gaydon has done for a number of years, and will provide booking, programming and venue expertise to a range of clients. Meanwhile, back at the Roundhouse, Jane Beese, currently Head Of Contemporary Music at the Southbank Centre, will take over as Head Of Music.
