Rolling Stones to play Havana
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 2 March 2016
The Rolling Stones have announced that they will play a free show in Havana, Cuba later this month. It will be the first ever open-air concert in the country by a British band, no less, and the band’s first show in the Caribbean in their 50 year career.
In a statement, the band said: “We have performed in many special places during our long career but this show in Havana is going to be a landmark event for us, and, we hope, for all our friends in Cuba too”.
The event has been organised in partnership with cultural organisation Fundashon Bon Intenshon and the Institute of Cuban Music, plus promoters Musica Punto Zero and AEG’s Concerts West.
The show will take place on 25 Mar at Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana and will be filmed, just in case you can’t make it.
