By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 7 December 2015
Rock Sound magazine has announced that Editor Ryan Bird is moving to the role of Publisher at the title where he will, says this here statement, “build on Rock Sound’s print and digital success as well as expanding the brand into new areas”. The mag’s current Deputy Editor David McLaughlin takes over from Bird in the full-on role, while Tomas Doyle, previously at Kerrang!, becomes his deputy.
Says Bird: “After a hugely successful couple of years, now is the perfect time to expand Rock Sound’s print, digital and commercial portfolios. We’re extremely proud to be the only magazine of our kind continually bucking a trend of decline, and that’s down to the vision, hard work and dedication of our hugely talented team”.
He went on: “With further expansion and recruitment planned across all departments, and a number of exciting projects already underway, 2016 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet, and we’re delighted to continue proving that success can be achieved in the rock publishing sector in the modern age”.
Yeah, but has he got a CRM growth strategy? That’s what all the cool kids want to know.
