King Krule

Rounding up the latest release news…

Pallid jazzist King Krule has kindly slipped fans a ‘batch’ of beats he has made as his alias, DJ JD Sports, a strong alias as aliases go. Not only that, he also posted a link to ‘Little Wild’, a track only heard on the Japanese edition of his new-ish King Krule LP ‘6 Feet Beneath The Moon’, so cop that and ‘Batch 1’ of a possible batch of beat-batches now:

Ariana Grande, popstar and GF of Nathan off of The Wanted, is to celebrate Christmas by releasing a new track every week as Christ’s birthday nears. The first song she’ll give, with an advent date of 19 Nov, will be her spin on ‘Last Christmas’, though the initiative will incorporate her own originals too. Ariana says she is “beyond excited to share them w/ U!”, whatever that means.

And hey, meet AIDEN. You know, AIDEN, as in ex-‘X-Factor’ boy Aiden Grimshaw. Yeah, him, only these days he’s AIDEN, sans the Grimshaw, and with a new image and new ‘aesthetic’. Anyway, AIDEN has released several new singles previewing an EP, ‘Satisfy Me’, which arrives on 26 Nov. Hear its title track here:

Elsewhere in the pop sphere, These New Puritans have let go a new video from their Rubik’s Cubic third LP ‘Field Of Reeds’. Representing ‘V (Island Song)’, which is out as a single on 18 Nov, the animated clip is scripted by TNP’s Jack Barnett, who says he was inspired to write the narrative by Chris Morris’s ‘Blue Jam’ and Miley Cyrus. View it here:

And finally, I bring news of a new album from CMU approved indie weirdists The Leg. Out on Monday via Song, By Toad, and bearing the title ‘Oozing A Crepuscular Light’, the first single from the record is called ‘Chicken Slippers’. And what better way to close this round-up than with the video for that?
