Rounding up the latest release news…

The original live score to ‘Here Lies Love’, Fatboy Slim and thin man David Byrne‘s collaborative disco musical inspired by the life of disgraced one-time Phillipino First Lady (and disco diva) Imelda Marcos, is to have a release for the first time in May.

Whilst a take on the soundtrack, in which the likes of St Vincent, Santigold and Sia sang covers of all the show’s Fatboy/Byrne-composed songs, came out in 2010, this edition features the stage cast that appeared in the musical’s NYC premiere last year. And that’s a crucial difference. The LP will be available digitally, and as a twin CD set, on 22 Apr. The details, and a stream of one of its songs, ‘Child Of The Philippines’, are at this link.

Also, house-pop production duo Gorgon City have a new single titled ‘Here For You’ doing the rounds online. The track, which has one-time approved vocalist Laura Welsh on it, follows GC’s MNEK-featuring hit ‘Ready For Your Love’, and will have its grand release on 17 Jun. Here is ‘Here For You’, for you:

Minimalist Irish artist Wife, birth name James Kelly, has passed some time “boldly navigating outside of his comfort zone” and working with The Haxan Cloak and Roly Porter, and at last come out with his first LP. ‘What’s Between’, as it’s title, will be released via the selective Tri-Angle label on 9 Jun. In the meantime, feel free to stream its lead single ‘Home Is A Far Light’, here:

Shapeshifting R&Beats braniac Jacques Greene is in readiness to release a new three track EP, ‘Phantom Vibrate’. Alpha A-side ‘No Excuse’, which is, states its info pack, “about hard shuffling taikos and owes more to hip hop production than his previous”, will be available beside B-sides ‘Feel What’ and ‘Night Tracking’ via LuckyMe Records on 27 Apr.

Jacques is accordingly going to launch ‘Phantom Vibrate’ at Brooklyn, Montreal and London-based, hardware-heavy parties. The London one is at St John’s Church on 24 Mar. Kill some time now with the ‘No Excuse’ visual:

And finally, Lykke Li (pictured) yesterday released a vid representing her new single ‘No Rest For The Wicked’ that’s so heartbreaking it will likely snap your full-size aortic pump in two. It’s directed by Tarik Saleh, and is very sad and beautiful. The song that plays over the top of it is out in the UK on 5 May, with the rest of Lykke’s new LP ‘I Never Learn’, just so you know.

And this is it:
