It’s not uncommon for Justin Bieber to annoy his neighbours to the point of them calling the police, but yesterday things stepped up a level. After reports that Bieber had thrown eggs at a nearby house, police turned up, locked him in his garage and searched his home. For eggs.

Assuming Bieber hadn’t eaten all the evidence, police have deemed this a felony case, which means that there is the possibility of a jail term if it results in a conviction. Presumably it won’t go anything like that far, but just imagine if Bieber was locked up for egg-related crimes. Imagine.

In a statement, police lieutenant David Thompson told reporters: “He has not been arrested, nor has he been exonerated. I get that the eggs don’t seem that significant, but it does rise to the level of a felony. There is a victim in this case who has extensive damage done to their home. And that’s a serious incident”.

Justin should be all too aware of the risks of launching eggs at people, given that an Australian teenager was arrested and later convicted for doing just that to the Bieber himself at a 2011 concert in Sydney. That seventeen year old got off with a six month good behaviour bond, as well as having to feel very silly for the rest of his life. Is that what you want, Justin? Is it?
