Pledge launch data for track widget
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 16 July 2010
Fan funding website Pledge Music has launched a widget that bands can use to collect email addresses, Facebook fans and Twitter followers in return for a track. It’s increasingly common, of course, for bands to exchange a free track in return for useful fan data. The Pledge widget will also offer analytics functionality.
Confirming the launch of the new widget, Pledge founder Benji Rogers told CMU: “For artists today, it’s vital that they are able to stay connected to their fans. We know that other companies are selling similar technology but giving the widget to whoever can use it, whether they start a campaign with us or not, aligns with our mission to support artists. When artists and fans benefit, the entire industry benefits”.
