The recently refreshed direct-to-fan platform PledgeMusic has announced an alliance with digital distributor CD Baby and its sister CD manufacturing company Disc Makers.

Through the partnership, artists and labels staging pre-order campaigns through Pledge will enjoy preferential rates if they also opt to use CD Baby and Disc Makers’ services, while CD Baby clients will be offered guidance in how to utilise the Pledge platform. Disc Makers will also help Pledge users to meet any physical product deadlines in their pre-order campaigns.

Pledge President Benji Rogers told CMU: “Having worked with both CD Baby and Disc Makers previously on many occasions as an artist and now through PledgeMusic I can truly say that their team and technology is best in class. We are excited indeed to bring our combined services to our amazing artists”.

Meanwhile Disc Makers CEO Tony Van Veen added: “We’re a company full of musicians, so we know how important it is to reliably hit release dates. By working directly with PledgeMusic and coordinating closely with artists, we’ll make the disc manufacturing process much simpler, and take away any worries of a missed release date”.
