Giana Factory

Formed in 2008, Giana Factory released their debut EP, ‘Bloody Game’ in 2009, delayed only slightly when vocalist Loui Foo briefly toured with The Raveonettes in place of her then pregnant sister, Sharin.

Back with Giana Factory, Loui, guitarist Lisbet Fritze and bassist Sofie Johanne make music that mixes electro beats and synths with spacious, echoing guitars. The trio released their debut album, ‘Save The Youth’, earlier this year, which was bundled with ‘Bloody Game’, plus rare studio outtakes and reworks of tracks from the new album by Glasvegas, Trentmøller, Autolux and VETO.

We asked the band to put together a playlist for us, which they did. And somehow we managed to let them get away with putting an entire Tangerine Dream live album on it.

01 Tangerine Dream – Ricochet Parts One & Two
It takes you away from everyday life and to some planet far away. There is a fantastic music video for this song.

02 ESG – Dance
We never get tired of this song. A good example of music that is just working even though it’s simple and played kind of rough.

03 Oppenheimer Analysis – The Devil’s Dancers
A great song for riding bicycle to.

04 Robert Plant & Allison Krauss – Polly Come Home
So slow and longing…

05 Depeche Mode – Everything Counts
This is a classic when we play a DJ set.

06 Marine Girls – On My Mind
Tracey Thorn’s early project with a friend before becoming Everything But The Girl. A song about the never ending story of love

07 Low – Especially Me
This song has such a beautiful melody and the harmonies are fantastic

08 Chimes & Bells – Mole (Trentemoller remix)
Great Danish acts and Nordic melancholy, with a cool vibe.

09 Cluster – Hollywood
A steady ongoing beat, cool and so krautrockish.

10 Lou Reed – Perfect Day
All time favourite Lou.
